Top AEW star made a mistake by not jumping ship to WWE, according to Disco Inferno

A former AEW World Champion has recently re-signed with Tony Khan's promotion despite several speculations that he would move to WWE. However, wrestling veteran Disco Inferno believes that the top star might have made a mistake.

The in-ring competitor in question is MJF. After several months of absence, The Salt of the Earth returned to AEW TV last month after reportedly signing a new deal with the promotion.

Speaking on the Keepin' It 100 podcast, Disco Inferno pointed out that the 28-year-old would have benefited more from moving to the Stamford-based company.

The former WCW star claimed he would have been more entertaining, more mainstream, and would have received more acting opportunities if he was a WWE Superstar.

"I think MJF made a mistake. I said before, I think he should be in WWE. He'd be more entertaining. He'd be more mainstream and he'd probably get more movies," he said. [1:08 - 1:18]

Wrestling veteran Konnan on MJF joining WWE in the future

Despite believing that MJF would have had better opportunities in the Stamford-based company, Disco Inferno stated that the 28-year-old re-signing with AEW might not be a major mistake because of his young age.

Inferno's co-host, wrestling veteran Konnan, agreed, pointing out that the former AEW World Champion could make as much money as he wants before jumping ship.

"For three years, he can make as much money as he wants. He's betting on himself. He's gonna do cool, which may raise his value for WWE. He can do literally whatever he wants," he said. [1:34 - 1:44]

Inferno claimed that historically, all the "famous super over guys" in wrestling had their prime years when they were between 34 and 36 years old. Hence, It would be interesting to see if MJF would move to the Stamford-based company when his current multi-year AEW contract expires.
