Top star costing Drew McIntyre at WWE Money in the Bank would be a bad idea, says veteran (Exclusive)
Drew McIntyre booked his place in the Money in the Bank ladder match on WWE RAW last night. While the threat of CM Punk costing him the match looms over his shoulder, Vince Russo recently explained why it would be a bad idea.
McIntyre and CM Punk have been embroiled in a feud for the last several months. The Scottish Warrior's obsessions with Punk cost him the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40. The Second City Saint went on to cost McIntyre again at Clash at the Castle as he made his way to the ring disguised as a referee.
While Drew McIntyre had his revenge a couple of weeks on SmackDown where he laid out the Best in the World, many expect Punk to get back by interfering in the Money in the Bank ladder match.
Speaking about the potential outcome on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW, Vince Russo stated that if WWE decides to go the same route again, the storyline will reach overkill territory.
"I am just telling you this right now. To me, if you have Punk do the exact same thing that he just did at the Castle, now it’s getting dragged. To me, its a complete overkill." [From 1:03:56 onwards]
Drew McIntyre booked his ticket to Toronto on RAW this week where he defeated Sheamus and Ilja Dragunov in a Triple Threat Money in the Bank qualifying match. The Scottish Warrior came very close to winning the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE Clash at the Castle and the ladder match provided him with another opportunity to clinch the gold.
