Top WWE champion injured ahead of major title match; gets stretchered out in front of a returning Eric Bischoff

On the latest episode of WWE NXT, Trick Williams was stretchered out of the arena ahead of his title defense at Deadline. He was involved in a brawl with Ridge Holland during the show.

WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff was involved in the segment. This was his first appearance on the black and silver brand. Easy E remarked Ridge Holland was the antithesis of what a WWE Superstar should be, and mentioned that the latter was a throwback to the wrestlers he used to watch. Bischoff said Trick Williams was the evolution of the revolution and told him that he had it all.

He then gave the two stars the platform to say what they wanted. The NXT Champion took a major shot at the number one contender by calling him bland, vanilla, and boring. He then told the big man that he wished he had what he had. Ridge looked straight at Trick and told him that he was soft. He then told the latter that he would put him down at Deadline.

They started brawling, and Eric Bischoff was in the corner watching it unfold. Holland cleared the announce table and spiked Trick with a DDT. The champion was stretchered out and loaded into an ambulance after seemingly suffering an injury.
