Top WWE faction might break up after multiple years of success, Hall of Famer Bully Ray believes; huge split coming
A top WWE faction may be coming to an end, according to WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray. The split might be exactly what the team needs, the former superstar said.
The New Day has been part of WWE programming for the past decade. Over the years, the members have been involved in several huge, entertaining stories and won multiple championships. However, since Big E's injury forced him away from wrestling in 2022, they have not found themselves the center of too many angles.
Now, there has been tension between Woods and Kingston, with Woods walking out on him and saying he's tired of losing. Feuds between former friends always hit harder, and Bully Ray said on Busted Open Radio that he felt that the friction between the two stars was coming to a head and that the faction would end after years of success.
He added that he felt the return of Big E would make the feud even hotter.
"I think we've seen the next step towards the end of The New Day. I definitely want to see Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston come to a boil, come to a head ... and then you play Big E's music," Ray said. [H/T Wrestling Inc]
Bully Ray said Big E would be the perfect addition to the feud as he would try to diffuse the tension between the two stars. While the star is injured, he would not necessarily need to wrestle in this role but simply add to the story through his presence.
It remains to be seen what Triple H decides to do with the New Day after this.
Bully Ray also spoke about which WWE star would be turning heel
Bully Ray talked about which star he felt should turn heel given the tension between the two stars.
He felt that Xavier Woods was a better natural heel than Kofi Kingston, who fans have always loved.
"I think Xavier Woods has more heel tendencies in him than Kofi. I don't think people would hate Kofi as easily as they can hate Woods. And if you know Woods personally .. .there's definitely a heel lurking beneath the surface."
It remains to be seen if this happens, and if it does, what will happen between the stars next? Only time will tell.
