Top WWE heel makes shocking claim about Gunther's championship reign; teases a match against The Ring General
At WWE SummerSlam 2024, Gunther captured his first World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Damian Priest. Ahead of Crown Jewel, 'Big' Bronson Reed made a bold prediction about The Ring General's world title reign.
For those unaware, in 2022, The Imperium leader defeated Ricochet for the Intercontinental Championship and went on to become the longest-reigning titleholder. At WWE WrestleMania XL in Philadelphia, Sami Zayn finally dethroned the 37-year-old star to win the IC Title.
During an interview with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Bronson Reed acknowledged his unique wrestling history with The Ring General, having faced him across various continents. He envisioned a potential match in Japan, believing it would be a perfect fit for the audience.
"There’s only one other guy that I've wrestled as much on different continents as, at the time, WALTER. We wrestled each other in Australia, USA, Germany, and England. So, I'd like to do it again. I’ve always wanted to wrestle Gunther in Japan; I think that'd be a match for Japan. It hasn't happened yet, but I'm sure it will," he said.
The Aus-zilla also expressed crossing paths with Gunther on WWE television and claimed that Gunther would hold the World Heavyweight Championship for a significant period.
"On television, I’m sure we’re gonna cross paths again as well; it’s just right time, right place. I think he’s going to be one of those guys; I don’t see anyone beating him for that championship for a long time, just like the Intercontinental Championship. I got plenty of time to get to that moment," Reed added. [From 05:29 to 06:13]

Bronson Reed says Gunther's WWE World Heavyweight Title belt is his favorite
During the same interaction with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, The Colossal was asked to name his all-time favorite championship belt from the past and present. Among many, Bronson Reed cited The Ring General's belt.
The 330 lbs WWE Superstar also stated he was a fan of the iconic Stone Cold Steve Austin's eagle belt and the Undisputed Championship from 2002.
"I'm a sucker for the old school eagle Attitude Era Stone Cold belt - the one that he had, the big eagle. That or the undisputed championship that came in 2002, those two are my favorite championships. If I was to choose now, I would probably say the one that Gunther holds, which is the World Heavyweight Championship. I just like the aesthetic of it," said Reed.
Both Gunther and Bronson Reed will be in action this coming Saturday at the Crown Jewel PLE. The Colossal will face Seth Rollins in a singles match; meanwhile, The Ring General will lock horns with Cody Rhodes for the Men's Crown Jewel Title in Saudi Arabia.
