Top WWE official excited about working with CM Punk in the future
WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H is excited to have CM Punk back in the company. Punk returned to the company at Survivor Series 2023 after staying away for ten long years.
Punk made his presence felt at Clash at the Castle: Scotland this week, screwing Drew McIntyre out of the World Heavyweight Championship. He came in as the referee and refused to make the count. He even kicked Drew below the belt, allowing Damian Priest to get the win.
During the Clash at the Castle press conference, Hunter mentioned he was happy to have Punk back in the company. He detailed that Punk had great potential and his efforts to unlock that potential back in the day were viewed as confrontational. Triple H stated that the star was a joy to work with and he was enjoying being around him and working with him.
"I cannot tell you how happy I am to have him back. I cannot tell you how exciting it is for me to see the Phil Brooks that I wanted to see then. While maybe my efforts to get that were taken wrong and it's what led to friction, I always knew the Phil Brooks that I see today was inside there, just couldn't express it in the right way. So, as much as this has changed, he has changed. And I gotta tell you, it's amazing. I'm excited, I'm excited for the future and I'm excited to not just work with him but just to be around him." CM Punk spoke about the changes in WWE
During the same press conference, CM Punk also addressed the media outlets gathered at the venue.
He updated everyone about his recovery and when he was expected to return. Punk then went on to speak about the changes in WWE. He detailed that a lot of things had changed backstage and it was great to know that he was in some way responsible for that change.
CM Punk will not be on WWE RAW this week, but is expected to return to in-ring action soon. It will be interesting to see how his feud with McIntyre shapes up after this incident.
