Top WWE star could miss major event; shares unfiltered thoughts on Triple H

The new era of WWE picked up momentum in a major way this year, and the improved premium live events are a big part of that success. Furthermore, Triple H taking control of creative has seemingly brought a massive upgrade to the product. One veteran superstar recently shared his thoughts on The Game, while also revealing that he may miss an important PLE.

The Miz is one of the longest-tenured members of the WWE roster, and one of the most successful. The Cleveland native is headed back home with the company for the 37th annual SummerSlam PLE next month, along with other hometown stars like WWE Tag Team Champion Johnny Gargano and United States Champion Logan Paul. After dropping the World Tag Team Championship with R-Truth last month, The Miz is currently without a key program.

The A-Lister recently spoke with TV Insider, and had major praise for Triple H. Miz declared that the Chief Content Officer has one of the best minds in pro wrestling history. He was asked what the vibe is like in WWE these days with The Game leading creative.

"Triple H is one of the best minds this business has ever seen. The way he is able to not only do what he is doing right now, but he is there as a resource. If I need to know what we are looking for in a match, he would be able to tell me in-depth what he is looking for and how we can get the crowd to gravitate toward the storyline," The Miz said.

The Awesome One continued and said the energy in the WWE locker room is unbelievable right now because "wrestling has never been so hot," pointing to how many top stars there are at this moment. Regarding PLEs, The Miz said he loves what the company is doing right now with 5-6 matches on a card.

"There are longer matches with storylines that have been built and are ready for a PLE. Look at SummerSlam now. It’s at Cleveland Browns Stadium. I don’t know what I’m doing, and it’s in my hometown. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I don’t think we will ever go back there because they might get a new stadium. I have grew up watching the Browns games in this stadium. I don’t know if I have a match," The Miz said. [H/T - TVInsider]

The Miz continued and said the storylines are insanely good right now, so it was tough to get on a PLE card. The 43-year-old veteran acknowledged that superstars have to be on top of their game if they want one of those spots, and he understands this more than anyone as he's been here for 20 years.

Triple H to begin major WWE tradition?

WWE recently announced the first-ever two-night SummerSlam PLE for next year. SummerSlam 2026 will take place on Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2 from U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Triple H and other officials are in favor of running Saturday PLEs, and the two-night SummerSlam in 2026 is likely the start of a new tradition, according to Fightful Select. The company has not announced SummerSlam 2025 details, but it's rumored that the first-ever two-night Biggest Event of The Summer may actually take place next year, and not in 2026 from Minneapolis.

WWE also announced another major PLE deal this summer. The company partnered with Indiana Sports Corp to bring three big events to the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. The venue will host a future SummerSlam, a future WrestleMania, and the 2025 Royal Rumble on Saturday, February 1.
