Top WWE star slams CM Punk for being a "genuinely terrible person"; says he hurt him personally and professionally
Several WWE Superstars were excited by CM Punk's return to the company last November. However, others did not feel the same, including a top superstar who claims The Best in the World had hurt him personally and professionally earlier in his career.
The superstar in question is Drew McIntyre. Punk has been out of action since January after suffering a significant triceps injury during a spot with McIntyre at the Men's Royal Rumble match. The two superstars have since been feuding. In an interview with The Indian Express, The Scottish Warrior fired several shots at the two-time WWE Champion.
The 39-year-old claimed that Punk is a "terrible person," stating that he had hurt him personally and professionally when he was younger. Meanwhile, he pointed out that he could not stand the Chicago native.
"I can't stand him. We have history that people just do not know about yet. And maybe I go into details down the line. But he hurt me when I was younger, personally and professionally, and he's a genuinely terrible person. If you just take five minutes to do the research online, you'll see he's always been a terrible person, even really recently. Like, I'm not lying," he said. [7:18 - 7:35]
Will CM Punk cost Drew McIntyre his title shot at WWE Clash at the Castle?
Drew McIntyre is scheduled to challenge Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship this Saturday at Clash at the Castle in his home country of Scotland.
On his Notsam Wrestling podcast, WWE analyst Sam Roberts pointed out that CM Punk could interfere in the match to cost The Scottish Warrior his World Heavyweight Championship shot.
"We know that Gunther, the King of the Ring, gets his World Heavyweight Championship match. I believe that the World Heavyweight Champion at SummerSlam will still be Damian Priest. I believe CM Punk will cost Drew McIntyre the title in Scotland," he said.
McIntyre also expects The Judgment Day to interfere to help its teammate at Clash at the Castle despite the faction being barred from ringside. It would be interesting to see if The Scottish Warrior can overcome the odds to walk out of Glasgow with the World Heavyweight Championship.
