Top WWE star takes shots at CM Punk and Damian Priest; major Triple Threat teased

The WWE Universe is buzzing this afternoon after a top star used "forbidden door" praise to take shots at CM Punk and Damian Priest. Despite one of these polarizing superstars being on the shelf with an injury, the big takeaway is a potential Triple Threat that could be massive for WWE.

The Second City Saint has been on the shelf since the Royal Rumble. Punk was injured by the same man who will challenge World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest at Clash at the Castle: Scotland - Drew McIntyre.

WWE has kept Punk involved during his recovery, and his rivalry with The Scottish Psychopath is just as heated as ever. McIntyre has also done a good job at keeping the Punk beef fresh, and we saw another example of that effort today as he responded to praise from TNA star Joe Hendry.

McIntyre recently put Hendry over during an interview and said he believes in his fellow Scottish grappler. Hendry briefly responded on X today but then gave further comments on how McIntyre was a leader in the ring and the locker room during their UK days together. Drew responded via X but took the chance to blast Priest and Punk.

"I appreciate the kind words but I’ve never called myself a locker-room leader. I’ve never felt the need to. I turn up. I do the best job I can. I offer advice to those who ask for it. And then there’s our champion who can’t control 3 people in his own stable and the other guy who’s only ever took from our industry," Drew McIntyre wrote.

McIntyre's continued shots at Punk are fueling the rumor mill amid speculation on a big Triple Threat. The former AEW World Champion is still out of action, but he could be medically cleared in time for Monday's go-home RAW. This would potentially open the door for a change to the Clash at the Castle main event, making it a three-man match with Priest, Punk, and McIntyre.
