Top WWE star teases return from injury ahead of SummerSlam
There are many reasons fans can expect at least one major return at WWE SummerSlam on August 3. Unfortunately for the company, the roster was plagued with injuries in the last eight months.
While top names such as CM Punk, Asuka, and Charlotte Flair all fall into this category, Roman Reigns and Alexa Bliss are among those who have not been seen on television for a long time now. Charlotte got sidelined in early December 2023, and it was estimated that The Queen would be ready to get back into the ring around the summer of 2024.
Taking to Instagram, Flair shared an ambiguous post as SummerSlam draws near. She is seen on her Instagram story wearing her regal cranberry red attire from last year's event. Although The Queen failed to win her 15th Women's Title in Detroit, she looked the part.
Charlotte Flair suffered a knee injury on the Tribute to the Troops episode of SmackDown in December and underwent surgery in January. Her return to the ring is not guaranteed, but many fans are hoping to see her again soon.
As CM Punk put it a few weeks ago at Money in the Bank, the company is careful about its talents and does not rush them to recover. But on a positive note, The Queen certainly fits into the category of unique stars who can pull off an early return.
Charlotte Flair was an elite member of WWE SmackDown at the time of her injury
On account of The Queen's injury happening a few months before the 2024 Draft, WWE omitted her from it. So, one can safely assume that Charlotte Flair will resume her run on Friday Night SmackDown when she does return.
Being a 14-time World Champion in WWE, she is among a select group of superstars who can break Ric Flair's legendary record. The Queen is usually always on the hunt for the top prize of whichever brand she is part of.
Ric Flair recently touched upon John Cena possibly breaking his record before Charlotte does. The Nature Boy admitted that he wants his daughter to do it, but if anybody else is going to do it before her, it has to be Cena.
As for this year's SummerSlam, two of her former rivals are set to square off representing the blue brand. On one end is Women's Champion Bayley, and on the other is the 2024 Queen of the Ring, Nia Jax.
