Top WWE star winning Money in the Bank before losing it to his rival is possible, believes Matt Camp
Six WWE Superstars will battle for the Men's Money in the Bank briefcase this Saturday in Toronto, Canada. Former RAW Talk host Matt Camp believes one could win it before losing it to his rival.
The superstar in question is Drew McIntyre. The Scottish Warrior is currently in a heated feud with CM Punk. After the latter cost him the World Heavyweight Championship in his home country at Clash at the Castle, the 39-year-old destroyed Punk and left him seemingly unconscious on SmackDown in The Best in the World's hometown of Chicago a few weeks ago.
As McIntyre qualified for the Men's Money in the Bank Ladder match this week on WWE RAW, many believe Punk could interfere to cost him the chance to capture the briefcase. However, Camp suggested another scenario on his The Wrestling Matt podcast. The former host claimed The Scotsman could win the briefcase and later Punk either wins it from him or costs him his cash in:
"I do kinda like the idea of Drew [McIntyre] winning the briefcase. And then [CM] Punk could mess with that later, whether he wins it from him or he costs the cash in. What if Punk doesn't get involved with Drew winning the briefcase, and we're all waiting for it to happen, but he screws up the cash in instead, especially if they go to the cash in quickly?" McIntyre has already hinted at cashing in the MITB contract on the same night if he manages to win the ladder match. It will be interesting to see if Punk returns and once again costs The Scottish Warrior's chance to win the World Heavyweight Championship.
CM Punk shouldn't cost Drew McIntyre the Money in the Bank match, says WWE veteran
On a recent episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW, former WWE head writer Vince Russo addressed the possibility of CM Punk interfering to cost Drew McIntyre the Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
The veteran pointed out that it would be a bad idea since the same scenario happened at Clash at the Castle.
"I am just telling you this right now. To me, if you have Punk do the exact same thing that he just did at the Castle, now it's getting dragged. To me, its a complete overkill." [From 1:03:56 onwards]
CM Punk won the Money in the Bank briefcase twice back-to-back in 2008 and 2009. It would be interesting to see if his rival, Drew McIntyre, would win his first-ever Money in the Bank contract this Saturday.
