Top WWE Superstar admits infamous gimmick was a low point in his career

Triple H has had a major influence on WWE since 2022. That was when he took creative charge over the product and its roster.

Vince McMahon, being the founder of World Wrestling Entertainment, has certainly had the biggest influence on the company's history. However during McMahon's later years the quality of the product diminished and talents were adversely effected by the booking on several occasions.

In 2019, after a successful run in the tag team division alongside now retired wrestler Jason Jordan and former WWE Superstar Shelton Benjamin, Chad Gable's singles career commenced as he was reintroduced as 'Shorty G'.

Appearing on the Cheap Heat with Peter Rosenberg podcast, Chad Gable admitted that it was a low-point in his career. He also added that getting through a gimmick like that and finding success in spite of it is a challenge. In the end, though, suffice it to say that the 38-year-old found his way. He credited his family for helping him gain perspective:

"If you want to say the Shorty G period where I would consider that one of my low periods. That was a rough one to get through, it’s a rough one to kind of bridge the gap and say I can do this one too. I can make it through this one because sometimes it doesn’t seem like there’s light at the end of the tunnel. I have a wife and kids that can kind of level me out when those things happen and put things in perspective. I think that’s the whole key to it all is just perspective."

Under Triple H's leadership, Chad Gable has become one of the most important stars on the roster today. The Game openly stated that he would be really sad if Gable decided to leave the company.

Chad Gable teases new alliance to take on The Wyatt Sicks in WWE

On RAW, Chad Gable has moved on from his Intercontinental Title aspirations as he has bigger fish to fry at the moment. After pushing his stable Alpha Academy away during his feud with Sami Zayn, Gable is currently alone in his fight against The Wyatt Sicks.

In the aforementioned podcast, Chad Gable spoke extensively about rising WWE stars the Creed Brothers, who moved from NXT to the red brand in 2023. He credited their athleticism and amateur background, saying that they already have it. However, Gable added that his leadership can be of value to them:

"I think there is a big chance for me to step into a nice leadership role and help those guys [Creed Brothers] whenever I can."

WWE creative has already planted the seeds for this on television. You can watch the video clip above in which Creed Brothers and Ivy Nile approach Chad Gable.
