Top WWE Superstar brags about being 'superior' than his peers after Saturday Night's Main Event win
After a big win at Saturday Night's Main Event, a top WWE Superstar claimed that he was better than most of his peers. Gunther retained the World Heavyweight Championsip after beating Finn Balor and Damian Priest in a Triple Threat match.
The Ring General had a crisis of confidence heading into the show, but came out on top after a hard-fought match. Balor and Priest had their moments before Gunther took over toward the end. He powerbombed Priest onto the steel steps before a front dropkick and powermbomb sequence to put Balor away for the win.
Speaking to Jackie Redmond and Peter Rosenberg backstage, Gunther was asked about his win and how it had boosted his confidence. The World Heavyweight Champion was so satisfied with his win that he called himself a superior star than some of his fellow WWE Superstars.
"A lot of my colleagues, they have their heads somewhere else. It's not on the things that matter and not on the real goal, the championship. There shouldn't be any emotions involved, any feelings involved, any personal feuds involved. That's why I'm superior to many because my mind is cold. It focuses on one thing," Gunther said. It will be interesting to see what's next for Gunther, considering he pinned Finn Balor and not Damian Priest. However, The Ring General already has a win over Priest in their rematch at Survivor Series: WarGames.
With WWE RAW's move to Netflix, it won't be shocking if Gunther gets a new challenger on the first show of 2025.
WWE's potential plan for Gunther
According to Sportskeeda Wrestling's Dr. Chris Featherstone, WWE is planning to put Gunther and CM Punk in a Steel Cage match as part of the upcoming holiday tour. One of the locations for the tour is Chicago, where Punk is from.
Featherstone clarified that it may or may not lead to a feud to start 2025, but urged fans to wait for RAW's Netflix debut. There will be more clarity once the move is official and plans for Punk get clearer.
Punk's goal is to main event WrestleMania 41, so he has to have a big feud to be considered for that spot next year.
