Top WWE Superstar mocks Rhea Ripley for her shoulder injury after she vacates the Women's World Championship

Rhea Ripley was recently forced to vacate the WWE Women's World Championship, after suffering a shoulder injury that will possibly keep her out of action for the foreseeable future.

At WrestleMania 39, Ripley won the SmackDown Women's Championship after beating Charlotte Flair. Later, the title was rebranded and Ripley was crowned the inaugural WWE Women's World Champion. She held the title for 380 days.

On the RAW after WrestleMania, a few weeks ago, Ripley was attacked by Liv Morgan during a backstage segment. The attack left the now-former champion with a shoulder injury, which forced her to vacate the Women's World Championship.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Morgan replied to a fan's tweet by mocking Ripley with a short message. She stated that the only thing the former champion owns now is a sling.

"All Mami owns right now is a sling, sir," wrote Morgan.

Dutch Mantell isn't pleased with WWE's way of crowning a new Women's World Champion

On Monday Night RAW, WWE will crown a new Women's World Champion. The injury to Ripley meant that another superstar had the opportunity to step up and win the vacant title.

However, Dutch Mantell isn't impressed with the direction the company has chosen to go about their business. A Battle Royal on this week's RAW will decide who walks out as the new champion.

Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk, Mantell acknowledged that while WWE has done great work recently, he couldn't help wondering why a better path could not have been chosen for crowning a new champion. He said he was fond of simpler matches and a battle royal does not excite him.

"What happened to the simple matches? Simple wins. Take it to the Pay-Per-View, and then work your angle. I think they are trying; what they have done so far is very good, excellent. But I think when you get in that Gimmickville land, kind of just stay there. The more gimmicks you've got, the more space you've got to screw it up. The Women's Battle Royal, like the four-way we had tonight, it doesn't excite me, because they have done it so many times," said Mantell.

It now remains to be seen which direction WWE will head with Morgan, who remains in prime contention to win the Women's World Championship. Morgan and Ripley are also former tag team partners.
