Top WWE Superstar reacts after Triple H officially welcomes him to SmackDown

A popular WWE Superstar has reacted to Triple H sharing a picture with him and welcoming him as the newest member of the stacked SmackDown roster. The said performer is none other than Carmelo Hayes, who was also in action at the show.

The former NXT Champion was the first-round draft pick by SmackDown which was announced by Undisputed Universal Champion Cody Rhodes. After formally being welcomed by Cody to the blue brand, Carmelo Hayes laid out a big challenge for a one-on-one clash against him for later in the night.

The American Nightmare quickly accepted the challenge and the match was soon confirmed. As expected the two performers tore the house down, with Hayes coming painfully close to taking down Cody Rhodes.

Soon after the match, Triple H took to Twitter to share a picture with Hayes and praise him for his performance. Reacting to the WWE CCO, the 29-year-old wrote how he was watching the Friday night show from his home last week, and just a week later, found himself headlining its latest edition.

"Was on the couch watching #SmackDown last week…This week drafted First Round and wrestling the WWE Champion in the Main Event. When I say I Don’t Miss…I mean it. H1M," tweeted Hayes.

Even though he eventually fell short against Cody Rhodes, there's little doubt Carmelo Hayes has a bright future ahead of him on SmackDown.

Carmelo Hayes is a fan of WWE legends like The Rock and Rey Mysterio

In a recent exclusive chat with Sportskeeda Wrestling's Bill Apter, Carmelo Hayes revealed the many Attitude Era stars he idolized growing up. The former NXT Champion said The Rock, Rey Mysterio, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Adam Copeland were among those he looked up to during his formative years.

"You gotta remember, I started watching right at the end of the Attitude Era, you know what I mean. But I am you know a student of the game, so I pay attention to a lot of stuff. But as far as heroes go, I mean there is so many of 'em. When I start watching it was the Rock, it was Austin, it was right on the tail end of the Attitude era. Edge, Rey Mysterio, all those guys I guess I'd say are my heroes."

Following his incredible outing against Cody Rhodes today, it's safe to say WWE won't let Hayes' momentum fizzle out and could have some big plans for him.
