"Totally had no emotion" - Wrestling veteran bashes WWE star for showing indifference to Cody Rhodes getting assaulted on RAW (Exclusive)
This week on RAW, Cody Rhodes was brutalized by Brock Lesnar, and former WWE head writer Vince Russo took issue with how Corey Graves narrated the entire incident.
As Rhodes made his way to the arena, he was blindsided by Brock. The Beast hurled him backstage and then smashed his hand with a crate. The assault continued later in the night after Lesnar caught Cody in the Kimura Lock, causing further damage to his arm.
On the latest Legion of RAW, Russo felt that Corey Graves did a terrible job conveying the attack's gravity to the fans. He recalled how Jim Ross would have reacted to this beatdown. The veteran writer pointed out that the fans would also not care about the angle if the announcer didn't sound believable:
"This was dead when we went to the on-camera because Corey Graves totally no-sold this. Totally had no emotion. Put JR in that spot. He totally no-sold it. Bro, supposedly Cody Rhodes has a broken arm, and Triple H can tell just by looking at him. And yet, you got your announcer totally no-selling this. So right off the bat, bro, if Graves didn't believe this, then I didn't believe it." [From 1:03:24 - 1:03:50]

Cody Rhodes may have a broken arm heading into Night of Champions
Just as the show was coming to an end, WWE broadcasted a backstage segment between Cody Rhodes and Triple H. Hunter looked at Cody's arm and said that he could tell it was broken.
The Game urged Rhodes to undergo treatment for his injury. On the other hand, Rhodes was committed and made it clear that he would fight Lesnar despite the injury. Triple H patted him on the back and walked out as the show went off-air.
