Trick Williams claims he has been waiting to cross paths with 310-pound WWE Superstar
WWE Superstar Trick Williams' first title defense of 2025 will take place at NXT New Year's Evil on January 7 at Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles. He successfully defended his NXT Championship against Ridge Holland at the 2024 Deadline Premium Live Event.
The 310-pound Oba Femi recently made a surprise return, replacing Eddy Thorpe in the Men's Iron Survivor Challenge at Deadline. The Ruler ultimately emerged victorious and earned the right to challenge The Anointed One for his championship.
The December 10, 2024, episode of the black-and-silver brand saw Oba Femi and Trick Williams come face-to-face for an intense promo battle. Femi declared he would easily defeat the NXT Champion at New Year's Evil.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Trick Williams mentioned that he was looking forward to crossing paths with Oba Femi.
"Been waiting on this one," he wrote.

The segment involving Williams and Femi also included Eddy Thorpe. After The Ruler left the squared circle, the 30-year-old star said he would defend his NXT Title against Thorpe on next week's show.
Trick Williams praises former WWE Champion
Since his WWE comeback last year, multi-time world champion CM Punk has been making frequent visits to NXT to mentor young talents. Trick Williams recently shared his thoughts on The Straight Edge Superstar.
On the No-Contest Wrestling podcast, The Anointed One revealed that his initial impression of CM Punk was uncertain. However, Williams quickly realized that The Best in The World was a genuine and supportive individual who provided valuable guidance to aspiring WWE Superstars.
"I didn't know what to expect when I [first] met him. But all I'm saying is that dude, [CM] Punk [is a] good dude, like solid. You can tell when some people are just genuine and he's very genuine. He takes pride in helping us, the next generation to become the superstars we need to be," he said.
