Triple H allows major WWE Superstar to appear for outside promotion
WWE shocked the wrestling world months back when they opened their own forbidden door in a major way. This came after the largest wrestling promotion began working more with outside promotions last year. Triple H is often credited with these overall product improvements, and now it's been revealed how he had a hand in a top superstar stepping into the ring of another promotion with a few legends and former champions.
Braun Strowman hasn't wrestled on WWE TV since beating Bronson Reed in the RAW Last Monster Standing match on September 30. He suffered a groin tear that night, but while rehabbing the injury, he continued to make various appearances for the company. The former Universal Champion then made a surprise return to the ring on November 15 in a post-SmackDown dark match. He teamed with Dragon Lee and Rey Mysterio to defeat Carlito, JD McDonagh, and Finn Balor. Strowman was recently announced for Blizzard Brawl 19 from Great Lakes Championship Wrestling, a notable indie promotion he is somewhat familiar with.
The Monster of All Monsters has just been announced as the special guest referee for the Blizzard Brawl main event, which will see "The Newest Rockers" Al Snow and Kal Herro, managed by Marty Jannetty, take on former WWE stars Damien Sandow and Santino Marella, who will be managed by Doug Basham. GLCW noted that Triple H signed off on Strowman's in-ring role after previously allowing him to appear at the show, which includes a charity Meet & Greet.
"WWE and Triple H have signed off on Braun Strowman appearing as a special guest referee at Blizzard Brawl on Saturday Night, December 7th at the Waukesha County Expo. He will be the referee for the Newest Rockers (Al Snow & Kal Herro) managed by Marty Jannetty vs. Damien Sandow & Santino Marella managed by Doug Basham. All of the proceeds from his Meet & Greet will benefit the Neosha Dam Fund and Honor Middle School in Neosha. Tickets are at BlizzardBrawl.com," GLCW announced.
Blizzard Brawl 2024 is set for this Saturday, December 7 at the Waukesha County Expo Center in Waukesha, Wisconsin. The event is expected to be sold out. Strowman's Meet & Greet will benefit the Neosha Pond Association and the Honor Elementary School.
Braun Strowman video with celebrity friend of WWE
Celebrities are synonymous with pro wrestling. The famous stars of sports and entertainment have been involved with pro wrestling for decades, and Vince McMahon's first-ever WrestleMania in 1985 cemented the role of celebrities in WWE.
Jelly Roll grew up as a wrestling fan, has attended numerous events, and has worked with World Wrestling Entertainment since becoming famous. The singer-songwriter and rapper made friends with guys like Triple H and Braun Strowman through that work. The Tennesse native turned 40 years old on Wednesday and received a birthday shout-out from The Monster of All Monsters. Braun included a video from one of Jelly Roll's concerts.
"Happiest of birthdays to the absolute legend @jellyroll615. Hope 40 is amazing to you. Thank you for all you do, you truly are one of a kind!!!! #happybirthday #jellyroll #legend #goat #mydude #blessed #honoredtoknowyou," Braun Strowman wrote with the video below.
Jelly Roll's work with WWE includes providing some of his singles as premium live event theme songs. SummerSlam 2024 used two of Jelly's songs, and the 21-year music industry veteran performed live. He also had an in-ring angle with A-Town Under that impressed WWE officials, as did his 2023 RAW angle with Dominik Mysterio.
