Triple H announces recently-signed 3-time World Champion as the new SmackDown General ManagerĀ

Triple H was advertised for the Season Premiere of SmackDown, and he ensured that the segment was an action-packed one. Not only was he interrupted, but he also declared the new SmackDown General Manager.

The Game was with Adam Pearce in the ring when he praised the latter for his role as an authority figure on both RAW and SmackDown for the last few years. He told Adam Pearce that he was getting a promotion before Dominik Mysterio interrupted.

Amid the chaos, Triple H then introduced the former 3-time World Champion Nick Aldis as the new SmackDown General Manager. Not only was he recently signed by WWE, but he will now be the blue brand's go-to man.

This means that fans won't be seeing Adam Pearce on Friday Nights as much anymore. What was admittedly a bit surprising was the fact that Aldis received no entrance, and just appeared from the ringside.

Nick Aldis then revealed that Kevin Owens was the one to be traded to SmackDown in Jey Uso's place.

This means an effective end to the Kevin Owens-Sami Zayn pairing. It also means that KO could possibly run back his rivalry against Roman Reigns, where he has essentially lost every match against him in the last few years.
