Triple H to bring back popular names for top WWE team? 40-year-old star addressed the possibility
Under Triple H's creative leadership, WWE has witnessed many notable changes in the past two years. However, the most popular change is superstars getting their previous names back on the main roster. Recently, one-half of the World Tag Team Champions, Ivar, addressed the possibility of getting back his former in-ring name.
Earlier this year, Erik and Ivar returned from their respective injuries and appeared on Monday Night RAW as The War Raiders. The duo went as The Viking Experience and The Viking Raiders under Vince McMahon's regime after they received their WWE main roster call-up in 2019.
In an interview with Chris Van Vliet on INSIGHT, the 40-year-old star was asked about him and Erik getting their old names, Hanson and Rowe, respectively, back under Triple H's creative leadership. The current World Tag Team Champion said he has no issues with the new names, as they've achieved a lot in the past five years and wouldn't want to erase it.
“I think, at this point, we spent five years in the main roster as Erik and Ivar, especially with the Ivar singles run. That’s how we’re known. I think it would have felt like an erase of everything we’ve done. I don’t think we want to erase everything that we’ve done on the main roster," he said.
The RAW Superstar added:
"We’ve done some great things, including singles run, our RAW Tag Title run that we had; all the stuff that we did with the Street Profits, whether people liked it or not, it’s our history. I loved every second of it, and I don’t think we want to erase that." [H/T: CVV]
The War Raiders members won their second title in WWE under Triple H's creative leadership
In 2018, Erik and Ivar signed with the Stamford-based promotion under the ring names Rowe and Hanson, respectively. They joined the developmental brand under Triple H's creative leadership. The two immediately reached the top of the tag team division, winning the NXT Tag Team Championship and dominating the brand.
They relinquished the title after receiving their main roster call-up in April 2019. The duo later won the RAW Tag Team Championship but failed to sustain momentum due to gimmick changes and injuries in the following five years.
On the latest edition of Monday Night RAW, The War Raiders defeated The Judgment Day's Finn Balor and JD McDonagh to win the World Tag Team Championship.
