Triple H hasn't failed major WWE star yet, believes Hall of Famer: "Get rid of the damn cup"

A Hall of Famer commented on a WWE star's booking. He says Triple H hasn't failed him yet.

Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins first burst onto the main roster emphatically. They quickly established themselves as one of the top tag teams by winning the tag team titles. However, the duo has been the subject of poor booking in recent years.

They are no longer considered one of the top tag teams in the company, as they haven't won the tag titles in four years. During a recent interview, Montez Ford expressed frustration over his recent booking.

Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T believes that Triple H hasn't given up on Montez Ford.

"Well, get rid of that damn cup. That might help, you know, and Tez is one of my guys, man. I like him. He's an extraordinary talent, but you got to know how to break out. You got to know how to make your own breaks. I was with my brother in a tag team for nine years. Was I thinking about making a break and doing things on my own?"

He suggested Ford give up a part of his gimmick and learn when to break out of his tag team to pursue a singles career.

"Was I capable of doing that? Yeah! I said, 'Yeah, I could do that'. But I was happy where I was, and I always wanted to make that the best until it wasn't nothing left to do there, but I think Tez is in a great spot to where he finally does go singles. It'll be... you still have a lot of like we were talking about earlier a lot of bumps left on his bump card if we do this thing right." [46:22 - 47:23]

What did Montez Ford say about his WWE booking?

The Street Profits haven't been in the conversation recently when it comes to the best WWE tag teams. This is due to their recent booking, which has been mediocre. They have taken a backseat to other teams like The Bloodline for the last few years.

Additionally, several new teams have been called up to the WWE main roster and have captured the tag titles, such as A-Town Down Under and Motor City Machine Guns. All this has made Street Profits an afterthought, and this didn't sit right with Ford.

During a recent interview with Dailymail, Montez Ford spoke about new teams making it to WWE and winning the tag titles. The WWE star also expressed frustration that people tend to forget what the Street Profits have accomplished when these new tag teams show up.

"For me to sit here and go like, how's it going, that it's good, that'd be a lie,' he reflects. "There's always pleasure in doing what you love, what you admire, what you have dreamt of, what you have goals in and passion for, but it does get to that sense of frustration where anything you try to accomplish in life, where you may feel like it's either taking too long, or it's been too long, or nothing's happening. You've got new faces showing up on the scene, and our audience naturally tends to forget what we've done and how we've done it. In the now, it is at the point where it's been almost four years since we've been Tag Team Champions." [H/T Dailymail]

It will be interesting to see if Street Profits can get back to winning ways soon.
