Triple H gets into verbal altercation with WWE legend; huge match confirmed for Crown Jewel 2024

Triple H was forced to get into a verbal altercation this week on WWE SmackDown with a legend. He was called out in the opening segment, and things played out interestingly.

This week on SmackDown, the show started with Randy Orton backstage. Last week, his request for a match against Kevin Owens at Crown Jewel was rejected by General Manager Nick Aldis, who said the orders needed to come from higher up. As a result, The Viper went to Triple H in gorilla position, and when The Game told him to "just go," Orton called him out in the ring.

It led to a tense verbal altercation between the two WWE legends. Triple H, for one, seemed slightly defensive of Kevin Owens, or at least it appeared that way. He said in Owens' mind, Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton turned on him and not the other way around. Not only this, but Orton accused The Game of protecting Owens.

The King of Kings responded by saying he was protecting Orton. Eventually, the match was made official for Crown Jewel.

While it came with a big warning message for Orton, it looks like the fourth match for the Crown Jewel card is now official.

It was an interesting segment in which Orton said he didn't want to see the corporate version of The Cerebral Assassin—he wanted to see the ruthless version of him from his Evolution days.

It took a while for Orton to do the convincing, but he managed to get it done. Kevin Owens will likely be the favorite heading into this match.
