Triple H gives Cody Rhodes a mystery item ahead of WWE Saturday Night's Main Event
Triple H gave Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes a mystery item today ahead of his title defense at Saturday Night's Main Event. Rhodes is currently in a heated rivalry with Kevin Owens on SmackDown and will be defending the title against The Prizefighter this weekend.
The Game noted that Saturday Night's Main Event would be retro-themed and presented Rhodes with a mystery item. The King of Kings then noted that The American Nightmare would only be able to use it for one night.
"With that in mind, I've got something for you. Understand this, one night only. Alright?" he said. [From 00:25 - 00:35]
Cody Rhodes then opened the box and smiled. He noted on social media that fans would have to tune in to Saturday Night's Main Event to find out what was inside. You can check out Rhodes' reaction and the video in the post below.
"πππ Youβre going to want to tune in to #SNME," wrote Rhodes.
Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes have been involved in a personal rivalry on WWE SmackDown. Owens brutally attacked Randy Orton last month on the blue brand and hit him with a Piledriver. Rhodes is out for revenge and will have his opportunity this weekend at Saturday Night's Main Event.
Bill Apter makes prediction about WWE title match at Saturday Night's Main Event
Legendary wrestling journalist Bill Apter made an interesting prediction about the Undisputed WWE Championship match between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens at Saturday Night's Main Event.
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's UnSKripted show, Apter predicted that the company would keep the title on Rhodes this weekend. However, he noted that Owens would get in a lot of offense, and it could be a grueling match.
"I think they are gonna leave the belt on Cody because Cody is, you know, he is still kind of a franchise face of the company. They like what he looks like; they like what he sounds like. But I think Kevin Owens is gonna kick the proverbial tar out of him and become, to the people who haven't watched pro wrestling on Network TV in years, you're gonna see this maniac guy try to kill Cody Rhodes," he said.
