Triple H hypes up major showdown tonight on WWE SmackDown

Triple H sent a message hyping up a major showdown tonight on WWE SmackDown. This week's edition of the blue brand will air live from Sacramento, California.

Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns will have a showdown tonight ahead of teaming up next month at WWE Bad Blood. The American Nightmare and The Original Tribal Chief are set to battle The Bloodline's Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu in a tag team match at the Premium Live Event in Atlanta, Georgia.

Ahead of tonight's show, Triple H promoted the showdown between Reigns and Rhodes and claimed fans have never seen anything like it.

"The OTC. The American Nightmare. You've never seen anything like this before... TONIGHT, 8/7c on @USANetwork . #SmackDown," he wrote.

LA Knight will be defending the United States Championship against Andrade tonight on SmackDown. Earlier today, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis added a major stipulation to the women's tag team match on tonight's show. Bayley and Naomi will be competing against WWE Women's Champion Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton in a tag team match. If either Naomi or Bayley are pinned or submit during the match, they will be forced to leave SmackDown.

WWE SmackDown star praises Triple H

Tommaso Ciampa recently discussed Triple H's vision for the product and praised the creative choices he has made as WWE's Chief Content Officer.

Speaking on the Battleground podcast, the former champion noted that The King of Kings was a fan of the business at heart. Ciampa added that he enjoys Triple H bringing back nostalgic events and presenting a new version of them to modern fans.

"One of the things that I love about Hunter's been doing and what he even did at NXT is he's a true fan of the business, right? So, he takes things that he's like 'Well, I remember liking this as a fan or enjoying being part of this as a performer. So let's bring it back.' It's awesome when he brings nostalgic stuff back [KOTR, WarGames, Hell in a Cell, and Saturday Night's Main Event] and then you get this new version of it because the business has progressed so much."
