Triple H likely to put legend in the WWE Hall of Fame, Jim Ross believes
Triple H has been in charge of choosing WWE Hall of Fame inductees since replacing his father-in-law Vince McMahon as the company's creative figurehead in 2022. Jim Ross, a 2007 Hall of Famer, is convinced Jim Johnston will join the illustrious group of legends one day.
Johnston worked as a WWE music composer between 1985 and 2017. The 72-year-old created iconic theme songs for several wrestlers, including Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Ultimate Warrior, and The Undertaker.
On his Grilling JR podcast, Ross said Johnston's contributions to the wrestling business are worthy of a Hall of Fame induction:
"I think he'll be in the WWE Hall of Fame at some point in time. Triple H is too aware of his surroundings, he understands who's contributed what, so I'd be shocked that in my lifetime that Jim Johnston's not in the WWE Hall of Fame. I believe that's gonna happen." [41:09 – 41:29]
In 2021, Johnston discussed WWE's entrance music in an interview with Lucha Libre Online. He said current-day themes are "so bad" and consist of "noise and stuff."
Jim Ross applauds Triple H's WWE decision-making
On December 14, WWE held its first Saturday Night's Main Event show in 16 years. Triple H decided to bring back the nostalgic event, which featured the return of legendary commentator and wrestler Jesse 'The Body' Ventura.
Jim Ross clarified he has not heard anything about Jim Johnston potentially going into the Hall of Fame. He also credited WWE's Chief Content Officer for making smart decisions over the last two years:
"Nobody's told me," Ross continued. "I don't communicate with WWE. It just seems logical, and that's one thing I can say about Triple H's reign as the head of WWE, is that he does a lot of very logical common sense things. Saturday Night's Main Event was his idea, and it brought back some nostalgia and they made it work." [41:30 – 41:52]
Ross also gave an insight into The Game's backstage heat with a current AEW star during the Attitude Era.
