Triple H makes a major announcement regarding Cody Rhodes vs. Solo Sikoa for WWE SmackDown
Ahead of the upcoming edition of WWE SmackDown, Triple H sent a message hyping Cody Rhodes' title defense against Solo Sikoa inside a steel cage. He also confirmed that the Undisputed WWE Championship match would kick off the show.
At the SummerSlam Premium Live Event, last month, Rhodes successfully defended the Undisputed WWE Championship against Sikoa. The returning Roman Reigns prevented the new Tribal Chief from beating The American Nightmare during the match's closing stages.
On X (fka Twitter), Triple H posted a message before SmackDown's return to the USA Network. He also further teased major announcements for the show.
"Tomorrow night, LIVE from Seattle, @CodyRhodes vs. Solo Sikoa in a Steel Cage for the Undisputed WWE Championship will kick off #SmackDown’s monumental return to @USANetwork at 8/7c. As for the rest of the show… you’ll just have to wait and see." wrote Triple H.

Cody Rhodes briefly discussed Triple H taking over WWE
Cody Rhodes briefly opened up about Triple H taking over WWE and the creative aspect of the company.
Speaking with ESPN, The American Nightmare praised The Game for his world-championship instincts, stating that they hold good for him to this day while exhibiting his duties as the CCO. He also recalled Triple H's time as part of the NXT creative team. Rhodes said:
"Triple H in the ring had World Champion instincts long before he ever was one. He applies those instincts expertly today as chief content officer. He was also amongst a handful of players ahead of the curve in terms of evolving the sport which he showcased with the NXT black-and-gold era."
At WrestleMania XL, Cody Rhodes defeated Roman Reigns to win the Undisputed WWE Championship. Apart from Solo Sikoa, he has successfully defended the title against AJ Styles (twice), Logan Paul, and most recently Kevin Owens, whom he defeated at Bash In Berlin last month.
The American Nightmare will aim for another successful title defense by defeating Solo Sikoa again in their Steel Cage Match on the blue brand.
