Triple H and Randy Orton's promo on SmackDown "made zero sense," says ex-WWE employee (Exclusive)
Former WWE head writer Vince Russo recently commented on Triple H showing up on SmackDown. The Game came down to the ring to confront Randy Orton.
Randy kicked off the show this week, calling out his former Evolution team member to the ring. He asked Triple H to set up a match against Kevin Owens. Orton went to the extent of accusing The Game of protecting KO. Hunter then broke his silence and detailed that he was protecting Randy instead. He revealed that he had spoken to Owens and the star seemed deranged. He made the match official for Crown Jewel but asked The Viper to protect himself.
This week on BroDown with Mac Davis, Russo was puzzled by the whole segment. He felt the angle was absolutely unnecessary. The veteran writer couldn't believe the idea that the Apex Predator needed to be protected from Kevin Owens.
"I get, you want to get Triple H out there, it's Brooklyn, it's New York. They do that all the time, man. I get it. But the whole premise of that promo made zero sense. You really want me to believe you're protecting Randy Orton from Kevin Owens? You really want me to believe that bro?" [From 20:06 onwards]
Randy Orton vs. Kevin Owens is now official for Crown Jewel. With a week to go for the event, KO could be lurking around anywhere, waiting to pounce on Randy at a moment's notice.
It will be interesting to see who comes out on top when these two former friends collide at Crown Jewel.
