Triple H reacts to huge title change on WWE SmackDown before Money in the Bank
There was a huge title change on WWE SmackDown this week, only a day before Money in the Bank and Triple H reacted. The Game posted about it as soon as SmackDown went off the air.
On SmackDown this week, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa stepped in to challenge for the WWE Tag Team Championship against A-Town Down Under. Austin Theory and Grayson Waller had won the titles back at WrestleMania when the promotion separated the undisputed tag team titles, which had previously been held by Judgment Day. So far, they've been able to hold on to the titles, but on SmackDown, that changed.
DIY are now the new tag team champions after they beat the team that has been going through some troubles of its own regarding cohesion. Theory and Waller don't appear to be on the same page at times, and now it's costing them.
Triple H reacted to the huge title change on SmackDown, congratulating Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano for winning the belts. He mentioned their victory was rich in history, as the two stars had won their first tag titles in the same building many years ago.
"So much history here. @JohnnyGargano & @CiampaWWE stepped into the same building where they first won tag team gold… and did it all over again. Congrats to #DIY, your NEW @WWE Tag Team Champions. #AndNew #SmackDown," The Game wrote.
It remains to be seen if A-Town Down Under gets a title rematch soon.
Triple H has seen Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa grow into the champions they are today
Before being the head of creative in WWE, there was a time when Triple H was more NXT-focused.
For a long time, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa worked together on some of the best storylines in the brand under The Game's watchful eye.
They have not been able to replicate the same success on the main roster, but that could change soon.
