Triple H recalls being "angry eye-to-eye" with CM Punk; discusses how their relationship changed

WWE's Chief Content Officer Triple H recently spoke about his relationship with CM Punk. Punk returned to the company at Survivor Series 2023 after a 10-year-long hiatus.

The Best in the World showed up at Clash at the Castle: Scotland this week. With his interference, Punk cost Drew McIntyre the title match, allowing Damian Priest to get the win. Later, he addressed media persons in the presser and spoke about WWE, the backstage environment, and his health status.

During the Clash at the Castle post-show presser, Hunter referenced some things Punk told. He acknowledged a new atmosphere in WWE and a lot of it in some way was started by Punk back in the day. Triple H felt that they did not agree on many things earlier, but that was all in the past now.

"He mentioned some things up here and yeah, there is a change and there is a new era, new atmosphere and new all those things. And yes, absolutely, in some ways, they are things that he was asking for and started a long time ago. At a time that he and I, for a lot of reasons, just saw things differently from each other. We saw eye-to-eye but it was angry eye-to-eye, it was opposition eye-to-eye. [From 0:38 - 1:20]

CM Punk shared an update on his injury

During the post-show press conference, CM Punk addressed the media outlets and spoke about his tricep injury that he sustained during the Royal Rumble earlier this year.

Punk said he was recovering well. He mentioned he got permission to skip RAW this week and travel to Chicago to meet his doctors. He was hopeful of being cleared soon.

CM Punk even hinted that he might show up to SmackDown when the blue brand rolls up to Chicago next week.
