Triple H reveals creative change that would kill WWE

WWE grew from a regional pro wrestling federation into a global sports entertainment powerhouse under Vince McMahon, and the company is steadily on its way to becoming bigger than many ever imagined possible under Endeavor. Despite the tremendous success, WWE is still not too big to fail, according to Triple H. The longtime talent and executive has just opened up on what could put an end to the number one promotion in the world.

The Game is widely credited for much of the recent success of the WWE product, especially in the post-McMahon era coming out of Endeavor merging UFC and WWE to form TKO Group. Triple H has dealt with a variety of criticism throughout his career, going back years to remarks on "the boss' daughter" or how he booked his own success. But especially in recent years, it seems that WWE's Chief Content Officer has earned his spot on-screen, creatively, and behind the scenes.

The Cerebral Assassin appeared on Greg & The Morning Buzz in Manchester, New Hampshire, this week, near his hometown. He was asked about running the WWE shows backstage and how many of his friends from the old school texted him about how the show wasn't as good as it used to be. Triple H corrected the first narrative and then went on about various viewpoints and criticisms of the product.

"Nobody actually texts me during the show because they know I'm not going to answer, for the most part. It's interesting the different points of view. I know guys across many different generations, and I think there are some older performers that look at the way kids perform today and they say, 'They're just not doing it right. They don't need to do all this.' I get that, but it's the way kids consume it today. There is a saying about when things start to leave you in life. The first thing to go is music. How many people, as you see them get older, 'Music today sucks. Back in my day, that's when they made good music. People put their heart and their soul into it and there was real emotion there,'" Triple H said. (H/T Fightful)

Triple H continued and made an ominous prediction about the future of WWE, if he were to make the show all about himself, which he has been accused of in the past.

"No, you're just old, dude. Yeah, the stuff was great in your generation, you learned it a certain way, but the kids today learn it a different way, and what they see and what they think is cool, then that's what you need to give them. I can't control that. I learned this thirty years the hard way. It is in no way shape or form about what I want. It's about what they want. If it becomes about what I want, then the show will die. It is about what they want and that overall big picture," Triple H said. (H/T Fightful)

Triple H officially retired from in-ring competition in March 2022 after being diagnosed with heart issues months before. His last match came at the non-televised live event on June 29, 2019, in Tokyo, Japan, where he teamed with Shinsuke Nakamura for a win over Samoa Joe and Robert Roode. The night before, also in Tokyo, The Game teamed with AJ Styles, Karl Anderson, and Luke Gallows for a win over Joe, Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley, and Baron Corbin.

Major update for WWE Survivor Series: WarGames

WWE is one week from presenting its 38th annual Survivor Series event. The show is booked for Saturday, November 30, at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

Officials have now confirmed both WarGames matches for the PLE, with CM Punk joining The Bloodline in a major move. Below is the updated lineup:

World Heavyweight Championship Match: Gunther (c) vs. Damian Priest
Women's WarGames Match: Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, Nia Jax, Tiffany Stratton, and Candice LeRae vs. Rhea Ripley, IYO SKY, Jade Cargill, Bianca Belair, and Naomi
Men's WarGames Match: The OG Bloodline (Roman Reigns, Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, Sami Zayn) and CM Punk vs. The New Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa) and Bronson Reed

WWE will air the Countdown to Survivor Series pre-show next Saturday, live from Rogers Arena at 4 pm ET. The main Survivor Series PLE is set to begin at 5:30 pm, and a post-show panel and press conference are expected.
