Triple H's shocking appearance on SmackDown sparks intrigue in current rivalry, claims Bill Apter (Exclusive)

Legendary wrestling journalist Bill Apter discussed the involvement of Triple H on SmackDown this week. The Game walked down to the ring during the show's opening segment at the behest of Randy Orton.

The Viper called out The King of Kings, asking him for a match against Kevin Owens. He pushed the WWE Chief Content Officer, insinuating that he was protecting KO. Finally, Triple H broke his silence and stated that he was protecting Randy. He reminded The Legend Killer how he was sidelined for over a year and the doctors even believed that he would never wrestle again. The Game finally gave in to Orton's request but warned him to stay alert.

This week after SmackDown, Apter noted that the 55-year-old's involvement in the storyline blended more credibility. He claimed that The Game's warning to Randy also gave a sense of unpredictability to the whole scenario. He felt Kevin Owens could show up at any moment and ambush The Viper ahead of their encounter.

"I really didn't expect them to get Triple H involved in this scenario. But, it makes it even more interesting of course. The whole back-and-forth between Triple H and Randy Orton was very good in my opinion. And Triple H ending it with Randy's got to watch his back brings up a scenario of what are they gonna do. Is Kevin Owens gonna attack Randy through the audience or something like that?" Bill Apter said.

Randy Orton vs. Kevin Owens is now official for Crown Jewel 2024. The two former allies will battle it out in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to see who comes out on top.

With a week to go for the premium live event, it will be interesting to see if KO does indeed launch a surprise attack on Orton ahead of their match.
