Triple H saved reportedly outgoing WWE star part of multiple dangerous spots on WWE RAW, claims veteran: "Look at the bumps he took"
A long-time wrestling veteran has claimed that Triple H made a nice gesture to a WWE Superstar reportedly on his way out. Glenn Gilbertti, famously known as Disco Inferno in WCW, thought that Ricochet was wearing padding inside his shirt during his brawl with Bron Breakker last week on RAW.
On the latest episode of the Keepin' It 100 podcast, Gilbertti and Konnan discussed the reports of Ricochet not signing a new WWE deal. The Human Highlight Reel was taken out by Breakker with a brutal attack, as the latter slammed him on the concrete floor and the windshield of a car.
Glenn Gilbertti argued that Ricochet had something inside his shirt that protected his back from injuries.
"I believe that Ricochet had some padding on underneath the shirt in the back. Look at the two bumps he took, right? He took the flatback bump off the thing onto the cement and then he took the one on the glass. I think they had because I was kind of looking. I was like, 'I wonder if they're going put some padding on there if they had padding on.' I think he had some protective [vest] underneath. Bro, you're not going to powerslam a guy on a glass windshield with no protection," Gilbertti said. [3:36 - 4:06]
Konnan then took the time to take shots at Jack Perry and AEW for using real glass as part of their high-risk spots. He knew that it would look good, but it could also lead to a serious injury, such as a severed artery.
Glenn Gilberti on WWE making a mistake in booking Ricochet's last segment
It was reported earlier this month that Ricochet had given his notice to WWE and wouldn't sign a new contract when his current deal expires next month. However, some fans and wrestling minds were baffled by how the company wrote him off television.
Glenn Gilbertti said the following about the potential of Ricochet returning to feud with Bron Breakker:
"I'm not even sure if he's gonna be leaving the show. (...) But is it official? Like has Ricochet made a statement? I think this would actually be a really good way to say he's leaving to get everything for a big comeback for him eventually." [4:37 - 4:58 from the video above]
One of the reasons why some people thought that Ricochet wasn't done with the company was the presence of Samantha Irvin after Bron Breakker's attack. Irvin being there to support her real-life fiance meant fans would get invested in their WWE story.
