Triple H sends a message to Gunther after he wins the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE SummerSlam
Triple H has sent a message to Gunther after he won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam.
At the recently concluded Premium Live Event, Gunther dethroned Damian Priest to win his first World Championship on the main roster. During the closing moments of the match, The Ring General was assisted by Finn Balor, who betrayed his former tag team partner and now-former Judgment Day stablemate.
On Instagram, Triple H sent a message to Gunther and congratulated the newly crowned World Heavyweight Champion.
"We’ve seen what @gunther_wwe is capable of… and we’ve still barely scratched the surface. Congratulations to your NEW World Heavyweight Champion. #SummerSlam," wrote Triple H.

Megan Morant believes Randy Orton could challenge Gunther for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship
WWE host Megan Morant believes Randy Orton will be in line to challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Speaking on the Notsam Wrestling podcast, Morant discussed the idea of a potential rematch between Gunther and Orton. The two men squared off in the finals of the 2024 King of the Ring tournament.
The Ring General emerged victorious in a controversial manner, hence, it could lead to Orton challenging for the World Heavyweight Championship. Morant said:
"We're going to get Gunther [vs.] Randy because of what happened at King of the Ring. I mean Triple H said we're gonna get it. He said we're gonna get it. [But I don't know when.] Me neither. But he said we're gonna get it. I just want it."
Earlier this year, Gunther's historic reign as the Intercontinental Champion ended courtesy of Sami Zayn, who defeated The Ring General at WrestleMania XL. Gunther held the Intercontinental Championship for 666 days.
His reign as World Heavyweight Champion could exceed his reign as the Intercontinental Champion. It remains to be seen who steps up as the first challenger for The Ring General's title.
