Triple H shares interesting update ahead of WWE SmackDown

After wrestling a few matches in 2019 and technically one in 2020, Triple H retired from WWE as an in-ring competitor. He made it official at WrestleMania 38 in 2022. By the end of that year, he was running things as the company's Chief Content Officer.

The Game has mentioned in recent times that his new role is far more challenging to him than his in-ring career. He brings his A game overseeing all things creative and it shows in the product. With SummerSlam scheduled to emanate from the Cleveland Browns Stadium on August 3, WWE is bringing in chart-topping country singer Jelly Roll to provide the theme songs for the event. His songs 'Dead End Road' and 'Liar' will be used.

Taking to Instagram, Triple H hyped up SummerSlam's promo featuring Jelly Roll, in which there is a dream sequence. When Jackie Redmond asks the singer what he wants to see happen at The Biggest Part of the Summer, he dreams about the "Jelly Roll Era" as The Game calls it:

"The @jellyroll615 Era is upon us, and it culminates on Aug. 3 when #SummerSlam takes over Cleveleand @brownsstadium," he wrote.

One-half of the World Tag Team Champions, JD McDonagh, recently dropped a message with profanity directed at Jelly Roll. The Irish-born wrestler has not forgotten the singer attacking him in November 2023 and siding with Randy Orton. McDonagh even teased an altercation if the 39-year-old shows up at the event.

Triple H sheds light on what transpired at WWE Clash at the Castle with Damian Priest

World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest successfully defended the belt against Drew McIntyre in Glasgow, Scotland, and later against The Scottish Warrior and Seth Rollins in Toronto, Canada, in the last two months. On August 3, Priest is booked against Gunther.

Speaking on Pat McAfee's The Pat McAfee Show, Triple H discussed about Damian Priest botching a springboard move in Glasgow against Drew McIntrye as his leg got stuck between the ropes. Initially, The Game thought that the show is over and was figuring out how to get the 41-year-old out of the ring. However, he later found out that the latter was actually fine.

He then got to his role in WWE today:

"I want these kids all come out of here safe and in one piece when it's over. Their safety comes first and foremost in everything we do. [...] It might be worse for me now. When I was, 25-30 years old, I go to the ring, I just didn't care. I just wanted to put on a good show. I didn't care what happened to me and anything else."
