Triple H and Shawn Michaels would be "stupid" to fumble major opportunity, feels WWE veteran, after blockbuster Cody Rhodes announcement
Triple H and Shawn Michaels recently brought forward an entertaining partnership for WWE fans. Tommy Dreamer and Hall of Famer Bully Ray believe the company needs to juice out the new opportunity.
The latest edition of WWE NXT saw Cody Rhodes come out to talk about his rivalry with AJ Styles. He was interrupted by the NXT Champion Trick Williams. Cody then announced that the 30-year-old’s next challenger would be crowned through a 25-man battle royal.
Cody Rhodes mentioned that superstars from other locker rooms could also be part of the battle royal. Bully Ray commented on what the Undisputed WWE Champion may have meant by the big announcement on the latest edition of the Busted Open Radio.
"Other locker rooms." Bully continued, "'RAW' is an 'other locker room.' 'SmackDown' is an 'other locker room.' TNA Wrestling is another locker room. Hell, AEW is another locker room."
He added that the possibility of AEW taking part in the action was remote, but stars from TNA could play a role in the action, especially after TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace’s performance at the recent NXT Battleground Premium Live Event.
"It would be stupid for WWE to not capitalize on [the TNA partnership]," Bully's co-host Tommy Dreamer said. "I don't think the two companies need to be married right now... [they] both have their own stuff going on." [H/T - WrestlingInc.]
He noted that Joe Hendry could also make his presence known to earn a huge pop. It could be similar to Jordynne Grace’s Royal Rumble appearance earlier this year.
Cody Rhodes could lose his Undisputed WWE Championship soon
Cody Rhodes has been the company's poster boy for the past few years. The American Nightmare has done everything right in his quest to become the Undisputed WWE Champion.
AJ Styles recently tricked Rhodes into believing he was retiring and viciously attacked the champion. After some to and fro, Cody Rhodes agreed to fight AJ Styles in an “I Quit!” match at the upcoming Clash at the Castle PLE.
Fans could see The Phenomenal One dig deep into his heel character and attack Cody’s wife Brandi Rhodes during the match, forcing The American Nightmare to say 'I Quit' to take home the title.
