Triple H could soon break up former WWE Tag Team Champions for the fourth time, according to analyst

Triple H is a creative genius, both inside and outside the ring. Meanwhile, WWE analyst Sam Roberts recently discussed the possibility of The Game breaking up #DIY once again.

Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa had a rough couple of months lately. They lost the WWE Tag Team Championship to Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga of The Bloodline on the August 2, 2024, edition of SmackDown.

Last week, Ciampa and Gargano had a miscommunication during a match against the Motor City Machine Guns, and it cost them a chance to become the number one contenders for the WWE Tag Team Title.

Johnny Gargano accidentally Superkicked Tommaso Ciampa, leaving The Blackheart frustrated after the loss.

Speaking on the latest edition of the Notsam Wrestling podcast, Sam Roberts said #DIY could break up for the fourth time, leading to a traditional heel vs. babyface dynamic. Notably, Ciampa initially betrayed his partner at NXT TakeOver: Chicago in 2017, leading to an iconic feud. They united again, only for Ciampa to unsuccessfully attempt another betrayal in 2019. Gargano eventually turned on his partner in 2020 before again joining forces in 2021.

"Will #DIY break up? I think it's entirely possible. I think if anybody sees the value in Johnny Gargano as an underdog babyface and Tommaso Ciampa as an absolutely dastardly will do nothing good for anyone, no redeeming qualities heel, it's Triple H. Those are the characters that they owned and owned better than most when Triple H was in charge of NXT," Roberts said. [From 49:02 to 49:33]

Is the Johnny Gargano vs. Tommaso Ciampa feud imminent on WWE SmackDown?

This wouldn't be the first time #DIY would be breaking up, as Gargano and Ciampa have betrayed each other multiple times during their time in WWE NXT.

Sam Roberts added that the rivalry between Gargano and Ciampa in NXT was the brainchild of Triple H, and the creative team might want to revisit the feud on the main roster down the road.

"Triple H is the one that orchestrated the epic, year-long rivalry, pre-Bloodline, by the way, that existed between Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa. Would it shock me if that repeated on the main roster at some point? It wouldn't shock me one bit, not at all. As compelling as it was in NXT, I would not be surprised at all if they ran that back. This was Triple H's baby, and maybe he thinks that, you know, they're ready for a second one," he added. [From 49:34 to 50:02]

The Sicilian Psychopath recently took to his Instagram stories to tease a potential breakup with his fellow #DIY partner. Will the two men go their separate ways? Only time will tell!
