Trish Stratus 'crowns' new WWE champion; brings back legendary title

WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus brought back a legendary title during an event in her hometown of Toronto, Canada. Stratus crowned singer and drag queen Priyanka as the new WWE Women's Champion.

The legendary superstar was at Priyanka's Devastatia tour inside the Axis Club in Toronto. Priyanka is a huge fan of wrestling and was even featured learning the craft with fellow drag queen Pha’Nesse, who goes by Princey Maurice, as a wrestler on the independent circuit.

In a post on her Instagram stories, Stratus shared a video of herself presenting Priyanka with the WWE Women's Championship. It was the older version of the title, the one held by the Hall of Famer seven times in her career.

"@trishstratuscom made me an honorary @wwe women's champion," Priyanka wrote in the caption.

Trish Stratus and Lita to reunite next month

There's an unresolved issue between Trish Stratus and Lita in terms of WWE storylines, but things are all good with real-life best friends. The Hall of Famers are set to reunite on December 6 in Columbus, Ohio.

Stratus announced on her official website that she and Lita, known as Team Bestie, are set to host an event to commemorate the 20th anniversary of their main event match on RAW in 2004.

It happened on Dec. 6, 2004, in Charlotte, North Carolina, with Lita winning the WWE Women's Championship from Stratus.

"We are excited to celebrate with our fans and to share some special stories of a night that is still talked about 20 years later," the duo said in a statement.

Stratus and Lita are two of the greatest women's WWE Superstars in history. Their main event match on RAW in 2004 was the first time two women headlined the longtime wrestling show.
