Trish Stratus drops blockbuster tease after major WWE announcement

WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus recently announced that she will be part of the Money in the Bank premium live event in her hometown of Toronto, Canada. Stratus also dropped a teaser video following her major announcement.

In a post on her social media accounts, Stratus shared that she will be making a pre-show hospitality appearance at MITB. Fans who have purchased the Gold, Champion or Elite Ticket packages will be able to see her in person, including a meet-and-greet with Damian Priest.

After her major announcement, the eight-time WWE Women's Champion dropped a video teasing a potential appearance at MITB. She was walking outside donning high-heeled boots and her 100& Stratusfaction Guaranteed apparel.

Trish Stratus has not been seen on WWE television since the WrestleMania XL pre-show when she discussed Becky Lynch's match against Rhea Ripley. Stratus has been absent from in-ring action after losing her feud with Lynch at last year's Payback, where Zoey Stark attacked her.

Stark had enough of her mentor's abuse, so she took it upon herself to fight back. She hit the Hall of Famer with her Z-360 finisher, knocking her out. Now, fans are wondering whether Stratus will do more than just a meet-and-greet at the MITB PLE, potentially getting revenge on Stark, who is in the Women's MITB ladder match.

Trish Stratus opens up about retirement

During a Q&A panel orchestrated by Going Ringside, Trish Stratus opened up about her possible retirement. Stratus initially retired in 2006 before coming out of retirement multiple times over the years. She wrestled in 2008, 2009, 2011, 2018 and 2019 before signing a new deal with WWE last year.

"Retirement? What is retirement? I'm not familiar with this word. I don't know anything about this word. We (Trisha and Lita) just stay ready. That's a general statement that we like to live by, just in case," Stratus said. [H/T Fightful]

Stratus remains signed with WWE, although she has not wrestled since Payback last year. It will be interesting to see if she'll return on television following her pre-show participation announcement at Money in the Bank. It's a great sign, considering the event will be in Toronto, and she could get an enormous pop if she makes a surprise appearance.
