Trish Stratus reacts to throwback picture with Charlotte Flair
WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus recently reacted to a throwback image of herself with Charlotte Flair. Stratus served as the host of the 2024 Money in the Bank premium live event.
Trish Stratus returned to WWE in 2018 to participate in the inaugural Women's Royal Rumble match. The following year, the seven-time Women's Champion competed in her first singles match in eight years, locking horns with Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam. Despite putting forth an impressive performance, the 48-year-old suffered a loss at the hands of The Queen.
Stratus recently took to Instagram Stories to react to a picture of herself with Charlotte Flair from the July 30, 2019, edition of SmackDown. During the show, the Women's Grand Slam Champion challenged the veteran performer to a match at The Biggest Party of the Summer after a heated exchange.
"#blessed🙏🏻," wrote Stratus.
Veteran believes Charlotte Flair's return could be a problem for popular WWE Superstar
Flair is one of the most decorated female superstars in WWE. Many wrestling fans are eagerly waiting for her to return from injury. However, veteran journalist Bill Apter believes The Queen's return could be an issue for Tiffany Stratton.
The former NXT Women's Champion won the Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match and looks set to win a championship. However, while speaking on a recent edition of Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine podcast, Apter raised concerns that Charlotte's imminent return to the squared circle might impact The Buff Barbie's future booking.
"Nothing wrong with any of the other ladies. I think Chelsea was very close, but in terms of marketing and viable for a match against one of the champions, it's gotta be her. She looked tremendous. She has got that athletic background. My question is, I don't know when this is gonna happen, but the woman's division has changed so much. What's gonna happen in your opinion when Charlotte Flair clicks that button and says, 'I am ready to come back,'" said Apter. [1:57 onwards]
Stratton recently expressed her desire to lock horns with Charlotte at WrestleMania 41. It remains to be seen if the two superstars will wrestle once The Queen returns from injury.
