Trish Stratus recalls getting ignored by former WWE champion in an infamous moment on RAW
Trish Stratus recently recalled getting ignored by a former WWE champion. This took place during an episode of WWE RAW several years ago.
While fans were happy to see Trish Stratus return to action at WrestleMania 27 several years ago, the same could not be said of John Morrison, who apparently wasn't happy to see Stratus take up the spot of a regular talent on the show. Although they won their intergender match on the Grandest Stage of Them All, Morrison wasn't reportedly happy about Stratus' return, which caused some friction between them on the RAW following 'Mania.
During a recent interview with Inside The Ropes, Trish Stratus explained how the whole situation with John Morrison got blown out of proportion and explained her point of view.
"It did get blown [out of proportions] ... He felt whatever he felt, which was, 'You're taking a spot from someone.' Who knows who? Somebody, anybody. But we did serve a purpose there," Stratus said.
Trish then explained that her role on "WWE Tough Enough" that year made her more of a WWE talent than Morrison was giving her credit for at the time. She also said that her appearance was, in fact, promoting the WWE product.
She also felt aggrieved that Morrison's actions that night took away from the fans of an opportunity for their two characters to celebrate their post-'Mania win.
Trish continued, "I told him what's what and we're totally fine now by the way." [H/T - Wrestling Inc.]
Trish Stratus says she is proud of Sami Zayn
Sami Zayn has come a long way in his WWE career. While the start to his career wasn't perfect, Zayn has overcome a lot of odds to become one of the most popular stars on the roster. Zayn has shown time and again that he can be a top guy in this business, which was evident when he ended Gunther's historic reign to become the new Intercontinental Champion.
Zayn has been showing his versatility by trying his hand at stand-up comedy recently. He recently held his own stand-up show, Sami Zayn & Friends, ahead of Money in the Bank which was attended by Stratus.
Following the show, Trish Stratus took to social media to let the current IC Champion know that she's proud of him.
"This was SO MUCH fun!! Proud of you @samizayn," she wrote.
It will be interesting to see whether Stratus will make her in-ring return to the WWE again.
