Truth about top WWE star's recent retirement claim seemingly revealed
Former WWE head writer Vince Russo recently gave his thoughts on a top star's retirement claim. The name in question is none other than former United States Champion Logan Paul.
Logan Paul joined World Wrestling Entertainment in 2022 and in such a short span he has managed to make a huge name for himself in the world of professional wrestling. At last year's Crown Jewel Premium Live Event, the YouTube Megastar dethroned Rey Mysterio to become the new United States Championship. However, he has been absent from television since losing the title to LA Knight at SummerSlam 2024.
Amid his absence, Paul was asked on his IMPAULSIVE podcast if he would be at WrestleMania 41. However, the 29-year-old shocked the world by claiming that he had retired after becoming a father.
During a recent edition of The Coach & Bro Show on Behind The Turnbuckle, former WWE head writer Vince Russo and Jonathan Coachman discussed Logan Paul's retirement claims. Russo mentioned that he first thought Paul might be asking for some more money from WWE's parent company and that could be a reason for his absence from TV.
However, after hearing Logan put over his peers and the Stamford-based promotion in his podcast, Vince Russo believed The Maverick was still with the company:
"That was like my first thought. Is Logan Paul maybe asking for a little bit more than they [Endeavour] are willing to pay at this point? However, when I heard him put WWE over and I heard him put the talent over that tells me that he's still a part of WWE and he's probably no selling an appearance at WrestleMania [41]," Russo said. Jonathan Coachman also talked about WWE star Logan Paul's retirement claims
During the same podcast, Jonathan Coachman added that he thought Logan Paul hadn't retired from in-ring competition. Coachman also praised Paul's wrestling ability, mentioning how naturally gifted The Maverick was:
"I think he's not retired just cause he's a dad bro. But here's the interesting thing about Logan Paul. Every time he shows up, he has an absolute banger match. He is as close to a natural as you'll ever see in the wrestling business," Coachman added. [From 19:26 to 19:38]
Logan Paul is currently enjoying his time away from wrestling as he recently became a father. It remains to be seen what The Maverick has planned for his future in professional wrestling.
