Two injured ex-WWE champions will return after long absence; tease dropped on RAW, says Sam Roberts

Over the past two weeks, WWE aired a mysterious vignette on Monday Night RAW. A WWE analyst believes it teased the return of two injured former champions.

The superstars in question are none other than The Viking Raiders. The two former RAW Tag Team Champions have been away for several months due to injuries. While Erik last competed over a year ago when he and his tag team partner lost to Alpha Academy on SmackDown, Ivar got hurt earlier this year after battling Oba Femi for the NXT North American Championship. On a recent episode of his Notsam Wrestling podcast, WWE analyst Sam Roberts predicted that The Viking Raiders will arrive soon to the red brand.

The RAW Talk host pointed out that what appeared in the vignette seemed like a Viking shield with Nordic letters written on it:

"It makes perfect sense that that's the return of The Viking Raiders. They've been on the shelf. They're still signed to WWE. The thing looked like a Viking shield. The letters are Nordic or whatever it's called. It's Viking letters. It's The Viking Raiders," he said. [1:03:24 - 1:03:41]

Valhalla is on maternity leave from WWE

While Erik and Ivar have been away from in-ring competition with injuries, the third member of the Viking Raiders, Valhalla, is currently on maternity leave. Last April, the 31-year-old and her husband, Erik, announced they were expecting their second child.

Valhalla last competed in February when she participated in an Elimination Chamber Qualifying Last Chance Battle Royal on Monday Night RAW. The former Riott Squad member is not expected to make a comeback alongside her husband and Ivar if the two return soon, as she is due in November.

The Viking Raiders could go in different directions upon their potential return to Monday Night RAW, including getting into a feud with Chad Gable's American Made. It would be interesting to see if that would happen.
