Two reasons why LA Knight will not beat Logan Paul, according to former world champion (Exclusive)
LA Knight became one of WWE's most popular talents in 2023. As the 41-year-old prepares to wrestle at SummerSlam, Vince Russo gave his honest take on whether he could defeat Logan Paul.
Nowadays, many WWE stars move to RAW and SmackDown in their 20s or early 30s after honing their craft in the NXT developmental system. In Knight's case, he left WWE at age 31 in 2014 before returning as a 38-year-old in 2021.
On Sportskeeda Wrestling's Writing With Russo, Russo tipped Paul to retain the United States Championship on August 3. The one-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion also explained why age and attitude may prevent Knight from leaving his opponent's hometown of Cleveland with the title:
"Number one reason, 42 years old [in November]," Russo said. "Number two reason, bro, from everything I read and understand and people that know him, et cetera, he's not the company kiss-your-backside guy. He is not the fall-in-line guy, and, bro, they don't like that type of individual and that's why he's probably hit a wall. And that's why I would be very, very surprised if they took the belt off Logan Paul and put it on him." [4:27 – 5:06]

Why LA Knight is facing Logan Paul at WWE SummerSlam
In November 2023, Logan Paul defeated Rey Mysterio at Crown Jewel to win the United States Championship. He has only defended the title twice since then, prompting LA Knight to criticize him on television and social media.
On June 28, Paul attempted to qualify for the Men's Money in the Bank ladder match against Knight and Santos Escobar on SmackDown. However, he suffered a surprise defeat after Knight held his rival's tights while pinning him.
Three weeks later, both men signed a contract to confirm Paul would defend his title against The Megastar at SummerSlam.
