Two-time WWE Champion hails Sheamus as the toughest wrestler he worked with
Sheamus pulled through a career-threatening injury and got back in the game as a new member of WWE RAW's stacked roster, earlier this year in April. Although not part of any major storylines so far, the Irishman has put on an impeccable performance every time he has shown up for a match.
This was exactly the characteristic Bobby Lashley highlighted about The Celtic Warrior recently when discussing on The Laboraty with Plaz about tough days at the office with regard to opponents. The former two-time WWE Champion thought about it for some time before bringing up Sheamus as the toughest challenger.
He looked back to a match they worked together after not having done so in a while. The All Mighty recalled how many wrestlers in the locker room made him feel like he was in for a difficult night when they found out he was wrestling Sheamus.
Bobby Lashley admitted that some wrestlers are in it for themselves, but Sheamus simply wanted to put on a great show. Lashley also commended the Irishman's grit and determination in the ring.
"Sure enough, when we started that match, Sheamus came in hard. Boom! He clubbed me so hard and I was like, 'Oh. I'm in a fight.' We really fighting. He likes it. That's what he does. Sheamus is a different character. It's like, what he gives, he takes. So I was like, 'Okay. So we just going to beat each other up here, and it's going to be a good match because of it,'" he said. On the latest episode of WWE RAW, Sheamus defeated Ludwig Kaiser, weeks after the latter had pulled an upset over him. WWE also appears to be slowly building up a personal rivalry between The Celtic Warrior and his former protégé from The Brawling Brutes, Pete Dunne.
Pete Dunne does not look back fondly at his run in The Brawling Brutes on WWE SmackDown
Pete Dunne cut a promo on Week One of NXT Great American Bash about Sheamus and their time together as The Brawling Brutes. The European faction was very popular during its run on WWE SmackDown, most notably feuding with The Imperium.
Dunne blamed the Irishman for getting repackaged as 'Butch' on the main roster, a name he dropped after the former WWE Champion left in August 2023 to heal from injuries. Meanwhile, the 30-year-old re-formed a tag team with Tyler Bate, with the duo calling themselves, The New Catch Republic.
He also added that The Brawling Brutes was all about Sheamus and the rest of them did not matter, which is part of the reason he had a bitter taste from his run under the veteran's wing.
