Two-time WWE Champion reacts to popular finisher becoming overused

WWE and several other promotions' stars often borrow moves from each other in their shows. However, the presentation of these moves often does a disservice to their creators. Recently, two-time WWE Champion AJ Styles reacted on social media when he saw his move being used by an AEW star.

AJ Styles is known for being one of the most technically gifted wrestlers. He has been using Styles Clash as his finisher for many years. While many superstars across various promotions have replicated the move, The Phenomenal One recently commented about the move being used by Will Ospreay in AEW.

Ospreay used the Styles Clash twice on MJF in a 60-minute brawl, only to lose his AEW International Championship. Styles didn’t have a problem with the move being used and said it showed that the star respected him. However, with a quirky tweet on X, he responded to a now-deleted comment about the Styles Clash not turning into a transitional move.

“Sweet chin music,” wrote AJ Styles.

The Phenomenal One pointed out how Shawn Michaels’ popular and dreaded finisher has been done a disservice by being converted into a transitional move. Notably, AJ was talking about Sweet Chin Music, which is now called The Superkick and is used by almost everyone.

AJ Styles wins a major wrestling event outside WWE

AJ Styles recently surprised everyone by competing at Pro Wrestling NOAH Destination 2024 and winning the event. Upon his return to Japan, he defeated Naomichi Marufuji.

The Phenomenal One fighting at another promotion was rare as he appeared in a non-collaborative cross-company event while still being with the Stamford-based promotion. His fellow Original Club members, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, praised Triple H for making this rare participation of AJ happen.

AJ Styles last competed in a WWE ring at Clash at the Castle in a losing effort for the Undisputed Championship against Cody Rhodes.
