Underrated WWE star could defeat Gunther to pull off a massive upset win, says veteran (Exclusive)
Gunther is certainly one of the toughest names on the WWE roster currently. However, a veteran thinks a certain star could believably pull off a win against The Ring General.
Vince Russo has been one of the most vocal admirers of Gunther over the last few years. The Ring General certainly lives up to his reputation, having proven himself to be one of the most competent in-ring performers in recent memory. Even then, Russo has picked one of the mid-card names as a potential opponent for Gunther who could possibly etch a win against him.
Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws, Russo stated that Montez Ford needed a push, which could be done by booking a win against Gunther:
"See now, if a guy like that (Montez Ford) upsets a Gunther, I believe it... And then, bro, it's almost like now he has got a brand new star. Now, you could forget everything. But that's what I am talking about, bro. It's that simple because this is a guy that's believable." [8:56 onwards]

The WWE veteran has not been fully satisfied with Gunther's booking so far
While The Ring General has been made out to be a formidable superstar, one of his losses apparently still infuriates Vince Russo.
Speaking on an episode of Writing with Russo, the veteran had explained why Sami Zayn being booked to dethrone Gunther was a terrible decision by WWE. He stated:
"I'll never get over Sami Zayn beating Gunther. I'll just, I'll never get over that. And I can't get over that. I don't know bro, they just, they really have a problem with booking heels strong. I mean, you saw Bron Breakker win the Intercontinental Title, he loses it like in two weeks. Gunther loses to, you know, Sami, then Gunther loses to Cody... I do know what it is. It's house shows, put the baby over in house shows." [4:41 onwards]
It remains to be seen how Gunther is booked further down the line in WWE.
