Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes could be dealing with an injury, says wrestling veteran

Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes dealt with much adversity before claiming the most prestigious title in the company's history. Recently, Stevie Richards speculated that The American Nightmare may be dealing with an injury.

Almost two years ago, Cody Rhodes competed inside Hell in a Cell with an injury. The match and The American Nightmare's grit to compete with a severe injury got him extremely over with the audience.

On Vince Russo's The Brand podcast, Stevie Richards discussed The American Nightmare's recent title defense inside a Steel Cage against Solo Sikoa. Meanwhile, he also pointed out that the star seemingly lost muscle and could be dealing with an undisclosed injury.

"I think Cody [Rhodes] went into it injured because I think I noticed some muscle loss that he had previously. So, I don't know if he's fighting an injury or whatever," Richards said. (From 01:52 to 02:00)

The veteran's assessment could be true as Rhodes has a tight schedule in WWE. Besides appearing on weekly shows, he is always active on the live event circuit, increasing the chances of injury.

Cody Rhodes won't be defending his title at WWE Bad Blood 2024

Earlier this year, Cody Rhodes vowed to be a fighting champion if he won the Undisputed WWE Championship (fka the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship) from Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL. Upon winning the gold, Rhodes remained true to his words.

The American Nightmare has proudly defended the title on numerous occasions, including at house shows and premium live events. The champion has put his title on the line in France, Saudi Arabia, and Germany within a few months.

However, The Bloodline isn't done with Cody Rhodes, as they want to bring the title back to The Island of Relevancy. After a successful championship defense inside a Steel Cage against Solo Sikoa, the group attacked the champion.
