Undrafted 36-year-old star says she'll return to WWE after dealing with a foot injury

One of the undrafted superstars, who fans presume may not even get assigned to a brand in the WWE Draft 2024, has put out a tweet revealing that she will return to WWE after dealing with a foot injury.

The undrafted star is none other than Carmella, who has been out of action for a little over 13 months now. While a large chunk of that time has been away due to her becoming pregnant and giving birth to her first child, it appears that this isn't the reason why she hasn't come back yet.

Technically, it isn't unusual for female stars to take over a year for their return post-partum. Becky Lynch, for example, took nearly 16 months off when she was pregnant.

Carmella revealed that the reason why she hasn't come back yet is because of an injured foot.

She isn't cleared to get back in the gym yet reportedly, which means that it may still be a while before she recovers. Fans can only presume that she will be on WWE SmackDown if that's where Corey Graves, her husband, continues to be on commentary duties.

Carmella's best friend Bayley will defend the WWE Women's Title in a Triple Threat Match

The context of Carmella's tweet was her praising recent WWE newcomer, Tiffany Stratton. A fan had pointed out that Stratton resembled Carmella, and The Princess of Staten Island and former SmackDown Women's Champion was full of praise for the young superstar.

Carmella's best friend Bayley, on the other hand, is set to defend her WWE Women's Championship in a Triple Threat Match against Naomi and Tiffany Stratton at Backlash: France.

While Naomi was the original number one contender, Stratton would interject her way into the title picture and thanks to Nia Jax this week, she solidified her spot as Nick Aldis announced her participation in the Women's Championship match at Backlash 2024.
