Unfortunate health update on WWE legend Jim Ross

WWE legend Jim Ross shared an unfortunate health update today on social media. The veteran currently works for All Elite Wrestling and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007.

Jim Ross is most known for his time working with Jerry "The King" Lawler on WWE's commentary team but has accomplished a ton throughout his illustrious broadcast career. He has been with All Elite Wrestling since 2019 but has been battling health issues as of late.

Ross underwent surgery for cancer on his right hip earlier this year and shared a worrying update today on social media.

"Another trip to the ER. Difficulty breathing. Likely an overnight stay. I’ll be ok. Let’s fight!" he wrote.

Former WWE writer praises Jim Ross' ability to put together a roster

Jim Ross also served as the Head of Talent Relations during his tenure with the Stamford-based company, and Vince Russo recently praised the legend's skill at putting a roster together.

Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's UnSKripted podcast earlier this year, Russo noted that JR built up a roster of professionals while he was with the company. He claimed that he never felt the need to question why someone was on the roster while Ross was in charge.

The veteran added that JR would only bring in the best talent and wondered how some of today's talent are featured on RAW and SmackDown.

"Bro when JR put together a roster, when JR put together a roster, everybody belonged on that roster. There was never a question, bro. Never once when JR put a question did I say, 'JR, why did you sign this guy?' You know why, bro? Because JR knew talent. And that's why when I was writing for the WWE, I understood. If you are on this roster, you're special, bro, because JR is only gonna bring in the best. I just look at this roster, bro. How did these people get through? They're not professionals."
