Unfortunate update on The Rock following his return at WWE Bad Blood - Reports
The Rock returned to WWE at Bad Blood last October 5th in Atlanta, Georgia. The Final Boss stared at Cody Rhodes, Jimmy Uso, and Roman Reigns as the show ended. However, the latest reports state an unfortunate update on The People's Champion for next year's WrestleMania.
As Rhodes and Reigns stood tall after beating Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu at Bad Blood, Rock's music hit and the crowd inside the State Farm Arena erupted. He stared down the Undisputed WWE Champion, the former Undisputed Tag Team Champion, and The Original Tribal Chief, before throwing a cut-throat gesture and walking away to end the event.
According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, The Rock is not currently scheduled to be at WrestleMania 41 next year despite his return. There were rumors that the WWE was planning a triple-threat match between Rock vs. Roman vs. Cody for the Las Vegas PLE.
The Final Boss' calendar reportedly got too heavy and he could not commit although plans can always change just like last year. Nevertheless, he could change his mind and go all in by starting his training camp early just like last year.
WON added that there were some people backstage who were unhappy that The Rock could not commit to WrestleMania next year. He has around six months to prepare for a potential match at The Grandest Stage of Them All.
The Rock shares backstage footage before his return at WWE Bad Blood
While there were rumors that The Rock was returning to WWE at Bad Blood, there was no confirmation until it happened at the final minute of the event. The Final Boss recently shared a video of him backstage greeting fans moments before his iconic music hit.
"Minutes before surprising the sold-out Atlanta crowd - I start feeling the energy and mana as soon as I start to walk to my holding position. Sounds crazy but it’s hard to contain, and this sh*t starts getting emotional," The People's Champion tweeted.
It will be interesting to see what Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns have in store for WWE SmackDown. Rhodes has too many things going on with Rock's return, his match against Gunther at Crown Jewel, and Kevin Owens' attack after Bad Blood. Reigns, on the other hand, still has Bloodline business to take care of with Jimmy Uso now at his side.
